Explorair is part of a consortium that will develop technologies for the detection of explosives, drugs and chemical warfare agents.

The acute toxicity of many Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC) means that near realtime (NRT) data is sometimes required to minimise risk to human health. Chemical processing plants installations are key examples of sites which may require one or more NRT systems for round-the-clock operation.
By acquisition of a new on site TD/Fast GC/MS analysis device, EXPLORAIR offers new analytical possibilities by providing rapid analysis, excellent performance, flexibility and reliability.
TD/Fast GC/MS is based on same technological combination as classical GC MS processor with the addition of improved cryogenic preconcentration/desorption section.
This allows much faster diagnostics with a wider range of detected molecules - from C3 to C25 in principle.
Discrimination can reach up to 5 to 10 ppb in normal conditions and should be operational by end of first 2008 semester.
Test measurements have been carried out inside the production areas of a chemical factory with ambient workplace atmosphere and results are promising on a very wide field of application.
